Beard and Moustache Transplantation

For men, just as healthy hair is important for appearance, beard and moustache can also be very important in terms of self confidence and external appearance. However, sometimes men may not have the density of beard and moustache they desire.

According to statistics published by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) in 2008, an increase of 110 percent in beard and moustache transplantation procedures has been observed in Turkey and neighbouring countries with an increase in information regarding hair transplantation in particular.

What causes loss of beard or moustache?

The density, texture and hair quality of the beard is determined entirely by genetics. Within three years following puberty, the beard hairs thicken and reach their final form. As long as there is no change in male hormone levels, the hair of the beard will retain these characteristics.

Beard transplantation and moustache transplantation can be carried out after age 20-22 when hormones reach basal levels. This procedure is preferred by those who wish to grow sideburns, who like the appearance of a short beard but whose beard is irregular or patchy.

Beard and mustache cultivation piecemeal with no beard hairless regions as well as to all men without beards applied to healthy. It is also possible to make cultivation of the trail wound.

How is beard transplantation and moustache transplantation performed?
